Nothing That a Bullet in The Head Wouldn’t Fix!
Most people when introduced to “my style” of marketing spend more time trying to figure out why it won’t work, than actually how they can make it work in their particular situation.
During a presentation last year I was approached in a break by a fellow who said “I totally agree with everything your saying”.
But, there’s always a but, some reason why they are preluded from what works.
He continued “but the boss I work with is a very negative man literally every morning the first thing he says is tell me all about the bad news on TV and in the Newspapers. He is always full of doom and gloom about the economy. All day long he interrupts me to give me more bad news. He virtually destroys my enthusiasm and productivity daily. There is no chance he would consider your methods so what would you do about that?
I responded by telling him there’s nothing wrong that a bullet wouldn’t cure.
Seriously though, I also gave a simple less risky solution….. CHANGE JOBS.
This boss is not going to change and to convince him to do so is a job you wouldn’t want. Anyway it’s dangerous because you can’t teach pigs to sing, it upsets the pigs and you get covered in mud.
His boss has become a toxic dump. If the toxic dump is a friend, neighbour or relative stop associating with them, make yourself scarce and in accessible. Be rude with them if you must. Being disliked and gossiped about by a toxic waste dump person is much better than being poisoned by one.
If it’s an employee fire them …today.
If it’s a client do the same.
If it’s the boss fire them too.
Tolerate no toxic dumping in your space.
Best regards
Mal
